Get ready to swoon over this gorgeous spring anniversary session in London! Clint and I met these two when we moved to London and let me just tell you…everyone needs a John and Amelia in their lives. This amazing couple is from AUSTRALIA (how awesome is that?) and we loved getting to know them and compare differences between our countries and the UK! We made so many memories together over our year in London and this day was actually one of my favorites. We laughed so much! While their anniversary is actually in the fall, we took advantage of the beautiful spring London gave us!
For John and Amelia’s session we went to one of my favorite places in London – Regent’s Park. I think it’s beautiful all the time but if you ever visit London between the spring and fall seasons you NEED to put Regent’s Park on your list! Once winter is over, the park gets an explosion of color. In the spring – it’s the green grass and leaves and the gorgeous flowers. In the fall, there’s an unbelievable fall palette. Where I’m from in Texas, we don’t get a true fall…or really even a true spring if I’m being real, so I especially loved visiting Regent’s Park during those seasons.
We ended our session at Westminster Bridge which leads to the Westminster/Parliament area. For those that are unfamiliar, this is where Big Ben is located. Unfortunately, Big Ben and Parliament are under some pretty heavy restoration work right now. All but one clock face of Big Ben is actually completely covered in scaffolding! I’m pretty bitter about it – I’ve never seen Big Ben in all his glory! Because of the construction we had to get a little creative with some angles but despite the restoration, I still wanted to capture John and Amelia on the bridge because the location is so beautiful. I’m so glad we tried it out because I LOVE the shots we got there.
Our friends moved back to Australia a few months ago and as we’re getting ready to move back to Fort Worth in a few weeks we will be literally be a world apart 🙁 That has been one of the hardest things about moving to another country for such a short period of time – leaving behind friendships as they’ve really only just begun. But even though our time together was cut short, we know our friendship with John and Amelia was not. Instead of goodbye, we said “See ya later.” And one day, we intend to do just that.
