A few weeks ago, Clint and I went to Boulder, Colorado to visit our dear friends, Randy, Kristen, and Anni! We met them when they lived in Texas and became friends pretty quickly. Randy and Kristen are very different from Clint and I in a lot of ways but we love them for it! We are exposed to all kinds of new foods, ideas, hobbies (Kristen is a birder!) and lifestyles (they don’t own a tv…on purpose!) and we love learning from them and observing how they do life. They moved away from us a little over a year ago so we were excited to go spend a few days with them. They graciously hosted us and carted us all around the greater Boulder area. Randy and Clint went on a few bike rides UP the mountain while Kristen and I took them breakfast in the car 😉 We all rode bikes together to the local farmer’s market through beautiful scenery and of course did a little shopping. But I think the highlight of our trip was going to Estes Park where we saw ELK! Real, live, ginormous ELK! Clint and I turned into hardcore tourists when we saw those things.
Because I knew we were going to be in the gorgeous state of Colorado, I asked Kristen if I could take some pictures of her family while we were there and I LOVED the way these turned out. These smiles and giggles are totally genuine – I love that I was able to capture that side of this sweet family. I hope you enjoy these pictures…and the change of scenery! (Seriously, Texas, I need to you grow some mountains please).
PS – Make sure to scroll to the bottom to see our attempt to get a group jumping picture. (We weren’t very good at it!)

These are so beautiful!! Can’t wait to be in the mountains next week 🙂
Thank you so much, Kira!
