It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do. I tried two different majors in college before I landed on my third and final major, Mass Communication. I initially made the switch because, for a time, I thought I wanted to be a photojournalist. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I loved the way photojournalistic photos told a story. You can feel so much just by looking at an image: joy, excitement, fear, happiness. Good photojournalism makes you feel like you’re actually there – witnessing the event first hand.

When I did this Fresh 48 Session for sweet, little Olive I felt like my love for photojournalism and portrait photography collided. It sure made my heart so happy! Olive’s parents are first timers too so it was especially fun watching them work together as they loved on, comforted, and were becoming acquainted with their new baby girl.
